Happy 30th Caleb!!!

Today Caleb is the BIG 3-0!!! Our celebration started last night at Rainforest Cafe with Caleb's parents. It was F-U-N...the kids really enjoyed it. Colten was a little hesitant at first when the animals came to "life", but then really got into it and was amazed at everything around him. Cambry just loved it from the beginning.

And Caleb, well...he went apes!!!
He enjoyed watching the kids' reactions and joining in on the fun!!!

It was a great family night...

Today we continued our adventure and went to the Wildlife Safari Ranch where you take a safari ride, in your own vehicle. I had kind-of planned a "family" birthday celebration with a safari/jungle theme in mind. (Caleb and I are taking a trip to the Bahamas in several weeks to celebrate our 30th birthdays and 7th wedding anniversary...whooohooo can't wait, but I digress). So, off we went and were amazed at the closeness the animals got to us.

We had bags of food and could feed them right from our windows.

Very up close and personal!!!

Cambry out one window, and Colten out the other.

It was amazing to be so close to such "wild" animals, the zebras were really beautiful!!!

And, the ostrich, well...a little scary!!!

Colten loved the petting zoo.
Cambry, too....
Caleb is such an amazing husband, father, and friend. I continue to be amazed at his love for our family and how much he devotes to our kids. It was a great day to spend together for the incredible man in my life !!! Happy 30th babe...love you!!!

Family times...

We have had lots of fun family time the past few weekends. Two weekends ago we were in Abilene for Caleb's cousin's wedding. It was so much fun to hang out with everyone all weekend in the hotel and at all the wedding events. Colten was the ring-bearer and did a fantastic job (with a little bribery). It was a great weekend...congrats Shannon and Al!!!
Our handsome boy...

Ha...the bribery worked.

Cambry at the wedding.

With cousin Chance.

And cousin Dax.

This past weekend was my family's annual reunion on the river. It was a hot weekend, but a great one!!! We missed last year as I was hugely pregnant and about to pop!!! We had a wonderful weekend catching up with family and getting everyone together. The food and fellowship were great. The highlight was watching all the kiddos play together. The sun was hot, but the river was not...

Cambry asleep on her Oni.

In between weekends we have been spending the HOT afternoons in the water, whatever way we can!!! One of the most popular events has been the "car-wash". Both kids have loved it.

The Beach!!!

We left right after Colten's end of the year picnic. A little sad, but he had a fantastic year, with a fantastic teacher. We looooove Ms. Lori and will miss her greatly this summer!!!

And of course, Ms. Kendra, too. Thanks for a great year!!!We then were beach-bound. The kids absolutely loved every part of it. Colten loved the condo, loved the pool, loved his pull-out bed, even loved the ride in the car. But most of all...they loved the beach!!! Neither minded the sand, salt water or waves. It was so much fun to see them having so much fun. The weather was perfect, not too hot. It even rained duing lunch and then during naptime to cool us off. We couldn't have asked for better weather. We spent most of the time at the beach, playing, splashing, jumping the waves, searching for shells and of course building sandcastles.

Cambry would crawl right out into the waves, even mouthfuls of water could not stop her. Colten was just as eager.

Buried in the sand.

Chillin' by the pool.

The hat I bought that she refused to leave on her head... We walked around the town and did a little shopping. Colten loved the big shark.

On our way home, we stopped to tour the USS Lexington ship. What an amazing tour!!! We went all over the ship, it was truly fascinating. Colten in the ship's jail...

We're already looking forward to next year. Colten has asked several times when we can go again. I'm just so thankful both kiddos did so well. It was a little difficult sharing one room, but they were champs and even slept well for us!!!

And...one more update. Cambry took 4 steps today!!! She's been standing for a little while now on her own and today just took off. I was pretty amazed at her balance, she stood up and walked to me then sat down so gracefully. She is such a busy one...

Stuck in her own chair, and not too happy about it.

She's sooo curious and into everything. This happens regularly when I'm in the kitchen. Such a big helper!!!

Summertime here we come...

This is a great time of year!!! Although it's been HOT HOT HOT most days, we've had some fun in the sun recently!!! Both our kids absolutely love the outdoors and it's almost a battle to bring them in, sweating, sticky and all. We've played in the kiddie pool, the sprinkler, gone to the big pool and have trips this summer planned for the beach (this weekend!!!), river and hopefully the lake. Not to mention it's almost birthday season around here, so lots of fun to be had!!!

Colten's great. It seems he's grown sooo much in the last few months. I have to admit, however, I'm a little ready for the 4's. The 3's seem to have worn me out!!! He definitely has a mind of his own and is more than happy to use it when and on whoever he can. He's such a sure-of-himself, independent thing and hardly ever slows down. He spent 3 days last week in Llano with my parents and his cousin and had a blast. School is out this week, which we will miss terribly. He still absolutely adores Cambry, which at this point she lets him know when to back-off.

Cambry's great and I think even MORE independent than Colten is/was. She is so sure of herself and has more determination than I could have imagined in a child. She's into EVERYTHING and all over the place. I cannot keep up with her anymore. One minute she's right beside me and the next she's in a drawer or cabinet and has managed to pull whatever she can find out. It's one mess after another, oh the joys!!! She is standing, cruising, pushing the walker (barely holding on), but has yet to take that first step. I will walk into a room and there she is just standing there. She says ma-ma, da-da, uh-oh and hi. While Colten was in Llano, she had her first "official" haircut. It was great until I had to hold her head still, then it was over. Both kids love daddy-time. It's always a joy (for us all) when we hear daddy walk through the door. Now, whatever Colten and Caleb do together, Cambry just joins right in.

That about wraps it up for now. I'll be sure to post beach pictures, but now time for more fun in the sun!!!
