A Hawaiian Luau

Was the theme for Cambry's birthday party. Our little "Island Princess" had a great celebration!!!

Before the festivities began...

With Oni and Granden who brought the Llano crew.

The babies in the family...Dax and Cambry.
Time for birthday wishes.

Sittin' with Papa "O" Of course, Colten's always willing to lend a hand...

Ohhhh...how pretty...

And cousin Jade helped too...

Cambry loves her little red wagon (thanks Oni and Granden).

And a definite favorite...her Little People set (thanks Aunt Chera and family)!!!

More Mommy, keep 'em coming!!!

Saying good-byes for the evening.
It was a fun party!!! Still hard to believe it's been a year. Cambry had her 12-month check-up and she is right on track. She weighs 20.25 lbs and is now 29 in long, right at the 50% percentile.
Some things to remember...she's never taken a bottle, so we're using a cup full-time. She doesn't care to drink it much by herself, although she can. It's funny, she's so independent when it comes to everything else, except drinking on her own. She's walking EVERYWHERE and at a fast pace, it seems. She is so content for the most part and really enjoys other people. She seems to be my social child and wants to be right in the middle of whatever is going on. She's started pointing and shaking her head for "no" or "yes" when she wants something. That's been a huge help recently!!! She can "moo" like a cow and we're working on other animals. Her face lights up when she sees Colten and now will walk over to him arms outstretched for a BIG hug, it's so precious. She loves her daddy and wants his full attention when he gets home, as does her brother. She is still a "mommy's girl" most of the time, but looooves her daddy time, too.
Now, onto Colten's birthday and party this weekend. More to come on our "birthday season" in the Chance household, stay tuned!!!

Happy 30th Caleb!!!

Today Caleb is the BIG 3-0!!! Our celebration started last night at Rainforest Cafe with Caleb's parents. It was F-U-N...the kids really enjoyed it. Colten was a little hesitant at first when the animals came to "life", but then really got into it and was amazed at everything around him. Cambry just loved it from the beginning.

And Caleb, well...he went apes!!!
He enjoyed watching the kids' reactions and joining in on the fun!!!

It was a great family night...

Today we continued our adventure and went to the Wildlife Safari Ranch where you take a safari ride, in your own vehicle. I had kind-of planned a "family" birthday celebration with a safari/jungle theme in mind. (Caleb and I are taking a trip to the Bahamas in several weeks to celebrate our 30th birthdays and 7th wedding anniversary...whooohooo can't wait, but I digress). So, off we went and were amazed at the closeness the animals got to us.

We had bags of food and could feed them right from our windows.

Very up close and personal!!!

Cambry out one window, and Colten out the other.

It was amazing to be so close to such "wild" animals, the zebras were really beautiful!!!

And, the ostrich, well...a little scary!!!

Colten loved the petting zoo.
Cambry, too....
Caleb is such an amazing husband, father, and friend. I continue to be amazed at his love for our family and how much he devotes to our kids. It was a great day to spend together for the incredible man in my life !!! Happy 30th babe...love you!!!

Family times...

We have had lots of fun family time the past few weekends. Two weekends ago we were in Abilene for Caleb's cousin's wedding. It was so much fun to hang out with everyone all weekend in the hotel and at all the wedding events. Colten was the ring-bearer and did a fantastic job (with a little bribery). It was a great weekend...congrats Shannon and Al!!!
Our handsome boy...

Ha...the bribery worked.

Cambry at the wedding.

With cousin Chance.

And cousin Dax.

This past weekend was my family's annual reunion on the river. It was a hot weekend, but a great one!!! We missed last year as I was hugely pregnant and about to pop!!! We had a wonderful weekend catching up with family and getting everyone together. The food and fellowship were great. The highlight was watching all the kiddos play together. The sun was hot, but the river was not...

Cambry asleep on her Oni.
Cambry and cousin Kalyn.

In between weekends we have been spending the HOT afternoons in the water, whatever way we can!!! One of the most popular events has been the "car-wash". Both kids have loved it.
