House progress

We are officially out of our house and it is no longer ours as of today!!! Very bittersweet, but so exciting to be moving into this next phase of our lives. WE had LOTS of packing to do and LOTS of loads were taken and put into storage. In the meantime, we are living with Caleb's parents while our new house is being built. They have graciously opened their home to us and we have settled into the "shop apartment" for the time being. Everyone has adapted well and Doc and Gram have been a big help in making the transition. It's a little tight, but the kiddos are enjoying having the HUGE yard to play in and being re-united with our dog, Riley. It's a great solution and place to be right now...we are thankful!!! Lots of pictures to follow...

Our new house is well underway and construction is running very smoothly. It has been so exciting and fascinating to watch all the elements come together. It's honestly still unbelievable at times that the house we have planned for the past three years is now being built. We are all having a great time watching it go up!!! These pics are from the beginning processes up until now...

Stay tuned for updates. They already had most of the second story framed up today. Lots of progress made, but lots more to do!!! Can't wait to see it all come together...

Eight months!!!

With the busyness of the past month it is almost impossible to believe Carrys is now eight months old. I remember with Colten, I knew to the minute when he accomplished something exciting or learned a new skill. Seems like I turn around these days and Carrys has learned something else. She is soooo close to crawling, actually moves backwards or scoots most of the time. She loves playing peek-a-boo. She will put anything over her face or head and wait for a reaction, it's precious! She finally has two teeth coming in, which has made for some exhausting nights. However, everyday she is an absolute joy and the happiest baby. She loves attention and is developing a very social personality. She seems to really love people and excitement!!

LHS Hall of Fame

It's been a series of proud moments for me lately. This past weekend we had the privilege of attending my dad's induction into the Llano High School Hall of Fame. He was inducted for his football accomplishments and records (some still standing). He was not only inducted for his athletic career in Llano, but for his incredible example of leadership and citizenship to the community still today. He was and is such an honorable recipient and was greatly respected at the ceremony. He continues to be an example in all aspects of his life to me daily and as Granden to my kiddos. Love you dad, there's none more deserving!!!

Football season

We absolutely LOVE football season around here and were so excited to see the season get started!!! There is nothing better than watching our Aggies play and WIN of course, despite the last bummer of a game against OSU. What's even more fun is Colten's excitement and interest in the game. He goes "all out" when it comes to game time...

watching the 1st game...ready at any minute to play!!!

love this Aggie!!!

To top off our football frenzy, Colten started playing flag football this season. He asked and asked last year, but we wanted to get into the groove of school last year. This year he was even more anxious and so we signed him up. I tell ya...it was one of the cutest things I've seen!!! I was one proud momma watching my son play out there and he did GREAT and loved every single minute of the game. In fact, he and one of his good buddies play together on the team and they volunteered for every single position and play during the game. They stayed in for most of it. Colten even played quarterback some and threw a pass for a touchdown (would make his Granden proud). It was fun to watch and I really hope his love for the game continues (and of course so does his daddy, HA)!!!
