The Bahamas...Yeah, Mon!!

We've almost been home a week now and WOW what an amazing time we had last week!!! The Bahamas was wonderful and such a needed vacation for the two of us. I was somewhat anxious to leave the kiddos, mainly Cambry...she's been a little clingy and started antibiotics right before we left for a minor ear infection (more on that to come). They spent part of the time in SA with Caleb's parents the the remaining time in Llano with mine. They did great and had a great time all around!!!

I could not believe how beautiful the Bahamas are. I had an idea, but it is so much more stunning in person. We stayed at an all inclusive resort and had just about everything we could ask for at our fingertips. The people were amazing and so helpful plus friendly. Hang on...pictures to tell the rest...

boats would ferry you across to the private islandwe got to sail, snorkel, ride water bikes
and of course lots of beach and pooltime (or laying beside them for me!!!)

We visited downtown and the hotel Atlantis one day. View of downtown...

The Atlantis...wow, it is spectacular!!!
We toured the aquarium at the hotel

A few pics of us at the resort. The food and restaurants on site were amazing and fun to try each one. We had forgotten how nice it is to take all the time you want at a meal and not rush through it before two children start getting restless...ahhhh, so nice!!!
down near the beach and fire pits, so romantic!!!

listening to some Reggae music...get your groove on mon!!!

And a few random pics from our fabulous week...a view from the pier.

It was so hard to say goodbye to such a beautiful place. I'm already trying to think how soon we could go back!!! What an experience!!!
So...that leaves us to our return home. The kids were great and glad to see us. Well, Cambry was a little hesitant, but then warmed right up. Colten had a great time with Doc and Gram playing on the deck and helping Doc in the shop. In Llano, he went to VBS and helped Granden alot on the ranch. Cambry did awesome, as well. She had been on antibiotics and I noticed right before bedtime the night we returned that her skin was very blotchy and looked like she had several insect bites. So, the next morning I went to change her clothes and her tummy was covered in spots and she looked very swollen. So scary, luckily I got her right in to see the dr that morning and found out that she was breaking out in hives and apparently is allergic to penicillin. Needless to say we immediately stopped the antibiotic, but it got much worse from there. The hives covered her body and gave her a high fever for two days (and nights). The poor girl was so uncomfortable sitting up, laying down, whatever. So, we had her laying on us with washcloths to bring the fever down, anything to make her more comfortable. She got several sponge baths and lots of medicine. She is great now, just within the last 24 hours really. It's good to have her back, it seems like it's been awhile since we've seen our energetic, spunky little girl. What a welcome home...but so glad we were here to help get her through it. I'm sure I would have been a wreck on vacation.

It was a truly needed and amazing trip for the two of us!!! It just reminded us how we need to set aside more time for just us, to treasure what we have!!! And...if it's the Bahamas again, I'm up for it!!!

Happy Birthday Colten!!!

We have had a fun last few days celebrating Colten's 4th birthday. We had a Monster Truck party Sunday complete with a water slide which provided hours of fun for everyone!!!

Birthday wishes for the Birthday Boy!!!
Present time, yea!!!

His very own straw hat!!!

We celebrated today at Benihana's for dinner. Not such a great idea!!! We thought Colten would love it. He loves chicken and rice and we thought the chef would entertain him highly. Boy, were we waaay off. The chef was so-so and Colten was too tired to enjoy the entire length of the meal. I forgot just how long the Benihana "experience" takes. His food, of course, was the last prepared and the poor thing was starved and grouchy by then. So, we headed back home for a walk to Sonic and ice-cream. Bad choice #2, the ice-cream machine was broken!!! So onto the next neighborhood restaurant. Ended up Colten did not want any ice-cream, so back home we went. It truly was a good day, just not exactly how we planned it. Oh well.....

and the BIG present, a bike!!!
Happy birthday, sweet boy!!! We love you dearly and cannot believe it has been 4 years since you blessed our lives. We love you tremendously and thank God everyday for you!!!
